Paver Driveways and Patios

Pavers done right are a base job, not a laying job. We build the base so the pattern stays flat through ten summers of Florida rain, and we fix the ones that did not.

Pavers are ninety percent base

A paver driveway that waves and sinks at the apron was not laid badly. It was laid on a base that was not built. We build the base.

Windermere, Dr. Phillips and the newer parts of Winter Garden run on pavers. HOAs expect them, neighbors have them, and they look richer than a plain slab. The trade-off is that a paver surface is only as good as what is under it. Excavate too shallow or skip the compaction and the pattern starts to roll in a couple of years.

We excavate to depth, place and compact a crushed stone base in lifts, screed a bedding layer, lay the pattern tight to edge restraints, then sweep in polymeric sand and compact again. Brick, concrete or travertine pavers, and we come back for sealing, re-sanding and the odd settled corner.

Why people choose us

Why Orlando homeowners call C2

Four things you can hold us to, on this job and every one after it.

We build the base

Full-depth excavation and a compacted stone base under every paver job. It is the thing the cheap quote leaves out.

Tight to the edge

Edge restraints and compacted polymeric sand keep the pattern from spreading. A paver driveway should look the same in year ten as in week one.

We fix other people’s pavers

A settled apron or a rolling patio can be lifted, re-based and re-laid. You do not have to replace the whole thing.

HOA drawings handled

Pattern, color and border on a drawing for the review board. It is part of the job in the communities that need it.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Common questions from Orlando homeowners.

How much does a paver driveway cost in Orlando?

Installed pavers in Orlando typically run in the range of twelve to twenty dollars a square foot depending on the paver, the pattern and the base work needed, which puts a two-car driveway in the higher single-digit thousands and up. Travertine and natural stone run more. We quote the actual job after a free on-site look.

Why is my paver driveway sinking at the street?

The base. Either it was too shallow, it was not compacted, or water has been washing the sand out from under the apron every storm. The fix is to lift the pavers in that area, rebuild and compact the base, re-lay the same pavers and re-sand. It is a repair, not a replacement.

Pavers or concrete?

Pavers cost more, look richer, and a section can be lifted and re-laid if it settles. Concrete costs less, is one surface, and needs almost no maintenance. In HOA communities that expect pavers, pavers. On most Orlando streets, a well-poured concrete driveway is the better value. We do both and we will tell you which suits your house.

How often should pavers be sealed?

Every two to three years in Central Florida, with a joint-stabilizing sealer that locks the sand and keeps the color from fading. Unsealed pavers grow weeds in the joints and go chalky in the sun.

Can you match my existing pavers for a repair or extension?

Usually. Most pavers in Orlando come from a handful of manufacturers and the common colors are still made. For a discontinued paver we can often harvest from a less visible area and use the new ones there. We check before we quote.
