An Orlando driveway widened by a new strip of concrete poured alongside the original, the two slabs matched in finish
Services

Driveway Extension

A second car, a boat, a turnaround or just room to open the doors. We widen what you have and match it, so the new concrete does not look like an afterthought.

Two feet, three feet, or a whole lane

Most people do not need a new driveway. They need the one they have to be a little wider. That is a smaller job than it sounds, if the tie-in is done right.

The most common extension we do is a strip along one side, two to four feet wide, so two cars fit without one on the grass. The second most common is a parking pad off to the side for a boat, a trailer or a third car. Both are a fraction of a full replacement.

The part that matters is the joint between the old slab and the new one. Poured wrong, it separates in a year and the new strip settles below the old. We dowel the new concrete into the old, build a proper base under the extension, and match the finish and the joint pattern so the whole driveway reads as one.

Side extensions

A strip along one or both sides of the existing driveway.

  • Two to four feet typical
  • Doweled into the existing slab
  • Base compacted under the new strip
  • Finish and color matched
  • Joint lines carried through

Parking pads and turnarounds

Room for the boat, the trailer or the third car.

  • Pads sized to the vehicle
  • Thicker pour for trailers and RVs
  • Graded to drain
  • Tied into the driveway or standalone
  • HOA drawing supplied

Apron and flare widening

More room at the street so you are not clipping the lawn.

  • Flares widened at the street
  • City right-of-way permit handled
  • Curb cut where allowed
  • Matched to the existing apron
  • Drainage preserved at the gutter

Matching

The point is that nobody can tell where the old one stopped.

  • Broom direction and texture matched
  • Color blended to the aged slab
  • Control joints aligned
  • Whole driveway sealed on request to even the tone
  • Walked through together before we leave
Why people choose us

Why Orlando homeowners call C2

Four things you can hold us to, on this job and every one after it.

A fraction of a replacement

You are paying for the new square footage and the tie-in, not for tearing out a driveway that works.

Doweled, not butted

The new concrete is pinned into the old so the two slabs move together. That is what stops the separation line most extensions get.

One day on site

Most side strips and pads are formed, poured and finished in a single visit. The crew handles it start to finish.

Permits and HOA handled

Widening at the street usually needs a right-of-way permit, and most HOAs want a drawing. We take care of both.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Common questions from Orlando homeowners.

How much does it cost to widen a driveway in Orlando?

A side strip two to four feet wide along a typical driveway is usually a low single-digit thousands job, depending on length and whether the apron is widened at the street too. Parking pads are priced by size and thickness. We quote the actual job after a free on-site look.

Will the new concrete match my existing driveway?

The texture and the joint pattern, yes. The color is always a little lighter at first because new concrete is new, and it blends over the first year. If you want it uniform right away, sealing the whole driveway after the extension cures evens the tone.

Can I widen my driveway at the street?

Usually, within limits. Cities in the Orlando area regulate how wide a driveway can be at the right-of-way, and some HOAs cap the width too. We check the rules for your address before we quote and pull the right-of-way permit as part of the job.

Can you add a parking pad for a boat or RV?

Yes, and it is one of the most common extensions we do. A trailer pad gets poured thicker than a car driveway, usually five or six inches with heavier reinforcement, and graded so the trailer sits level and water runs off. HOA approval is the usual hurdle, and we supply the drawing.

How long until I can park on the extension?

Walk on it in a day or two, park on it after about a week. Keep the boat or the trailer off it for a month so the concrete reaches full strength first.
